Problem
Book: A Christmas Carol
Near the end of Stave II, it reads, "The Spirit dropped beneath it [the extinguisher-cap] so that the extinguisher covered its whole form; but though Scrooge pressed it down with all his force, he could not hide the light: which streamed from under it, in an unbroken flood upon the ground." If light symbolizes truth in this story, why do you think Scrooge behaves in this way? If you could extinguish a "truth" in your life, what might that truth be? Write paragraph explaining your answer, using specific examples from the text to show what made you feel this way.
