William Stone is a 60-year-old male who has hypertension and heart failure. Was prescribed hydrochlorothiazide for hypertension originally a couple years ago. He states he hasn't taken the medications as directed. He's not taking any other medications. He saw Dr. Shelton today because he is experiencing increasing fatigue, with shortness of breath, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea and has noticed recent weight gain. ECG and chest X-ray were performed. He had blood drawn for lab tests. Alert and Oriented. Blood pressure 168/96. Temperature was 98.4, pulse was 98, and RR was 22. O2 was 90% on room air. Increase to 94% on 2L of O2 through nasal cannula. Nurse administered enalapril 5mg PO to Mr. Stone After reviewing the transfer report with the client's health information and health history, why do you suspect Mr. Stone has developed heart failure?
