Problem
To outsiders, Jewish laws can seem challenging or even absurd, especially when they involve innovations such as special elevators that stop at every floor on the Sabbath. But Jews who keep these laws often describe observing them as a pleasure, not a burden. Why do observant Jews not only follow Jewish law but regarding doing so as a privilege? And why is this attitude toward the law difficult for outsiders to understand?
