Topic: Personal Introductions
The purpose of this assignment is to encourage you to reflect back upon your own experience as a teenager as well as to help your classmates get to know you. Introduce yourself to your classmates. In your introduction, answer each question below as you would have when you were in high school.
- Who/what was your favorite singer or band?
- What was one of your favorite songs?
- What was the latest trend in clothing? Did you follow the trend?
- Who did you look up to the most at that point in time?
- Who was your main influence?
- How was your relationship with your parent(s)? Briefly explain.
- What types of rules and boundaries did your parents (or caregivers) set for you in high school? What was your attitude towards these rules? In hindsight, what do you think of the rules now?
- What do you know now that you wish you knew then?
- Did you have a relationship with God? If so, what was it like?
- Describe a memory you have that relates to something that you read about from the text. Cite the text.
- Identify something from Scripture that relates to your adolescence in some way.
Answer the above questions in expository (essay) form, not as a bulleted list. Answer each question as fully as possible to allow your classmates to get to know you. Properly cite both Scripture and the text in current APA format at some point in your response.
