Early in the conversation, the question of "who made it possible for me to enjoy this space" is one that comes up as a way for tourists to be very critical of their own place in the spaces they inhabit when they're on vacation. When I think of this question, I think historically by imagining how that question applies across time in any given space. Let's do that. Who in the history of the African Caribbean made it possible for tourists to enjoy that space?
