Consider the current media attention surrounding the Founding Fathers and how they should be represented/memorialized/remembered. From arguments over the meaning of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, to about Jefferson and Washington (amongst others) who were not only the revolutionaries who espoused the ideals of freedom and equality but who were also slave owners.
Who are the founders most often in the media? How are they portrayed? How does that square with how the founders are generally presented?
