The presentation should have three primary components:
1. A brief description of the corporation, the business in which it is currently engaged, its strategy, and its competitive advantage. Please specify the country in which the corporation is headquartered as well as the foreign country in which you believe it will succeed, and explain why you believe it makes business sense to expand to this foreign country.
2. A description of local issues (e.g., cultural norms, values, legal constraints, labor issues) that should be considered in the adaptation and implementation of HRM practices to the country in question; these issues may be concerned with cultural, socio-economic, political, labor and legal factors that make it advisable to adapt HRM practices to the context of the focal country. HRM practices are defined as those regulating the corporation's functions of training, talent management, recruitment, selection and assessment, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and performance management. The students are encouraged to present and or refer to material that illustrates the idiosyncrasies of the country, which may include slides, movies, video clips, classic or modern literature, news clips, and historical accounts, among others.
3. A description of the proposed HRM practices (i.e., training, talent management, recruitment, selection and assessment, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and performance management) that the corporation should follow, including a justification of how each practice takes into account or addresses the local issues described in (2) while supporting the corporation's competitive advantage described in (1).
