From the text, which root markers use Suliman to move around? "Sulaiman's mobility around the school site is facilitated by him knowing routes. He will learn a route by use of his cane and also by tactile, auditory and olfactory markers around the school. For example, if he passes the kitchen on the way to the office to return the register, he'll notice the smells from the kitchen. And you will clearly see him stop and smell the air, as a marker. All these things build into his routes and he learns a process from start to finish and he's got a fantastic memory. Sulaiman uses a wide range of markers. Hooked door handles he knows to pull and flat, metal, cold-to-the-touch plates he knows to push. When he's using his cane, things obviously make a sound as he hits his cane against them. So he's used to certain pitches of sound as he swipes his cane against things. A hollow cupboard will make a drastically different sound to a large metal radiator. We also have a number of tactile displays around the school and Sulaiman knows that's a really positive marker for him. Sulaiman's mobility obviously needs to extend outside of the classroom setting and we do this by using the classroom as a start point and we have a fixed end point of where we want to end up outside. The mobility officer would walk the route herself, work out what are likely to be useful markers to Sulaiman, and on the first time of walking along that route, stopping and giving a lot of time and input whenever.
