Kendra: After reading the section Organizational Agility in chapter 7 I automatically think about my old job when covid hit. Since I worked in a place that contained food and medicine we were open throughout the whole covid 19 pandemic. In this section of the chapter, it mentioned high-involvement organization, which is when the management ensures that there is a consensus about the direction the business is heading and it made me think of everyone that changed when covid hit at my workplace. Management wants to keep its customer and employees safe from the pandemic so there were a lot of rule changes. We had to put up Plexiglas at the register and required everyone to wear a mask. If a customer or employee was not wearing a mask, management would ask nicely to put one on, and if you refused, you would have to leave the store. Another change was limiting the number of people in the store so we had to keep track of who entered and left the store. The final rule change that I can remember was that at night after we closed we have to Lysol everything, the doors, the handles, baskets, carts, etc before leaving for the night. All these rule changes were to ensure that the business was taking the right step to keep everyone safe. By using high-involvement everyone had an understanding that these rule changes were in place to keep us healthy and safe from Covid.
