Discussion Post: Personal Story on my beliefs
I have always been a firm believer in Stoicism, which is not based on faking or not showing any form of emotional response to different social issues. I believe that through conditioning and training our minds, we can face different challenges in life, such as the death of a loved one, divorce or failure. The philosophy has guided my outlook and knowledge in life, ensuring that I always minimize my negative emotional responses. Being a realist, I believe that emotions like sadness, anger, and frustration result from my fixable faults rather than other external influences that cannot be justified in most cases. Therefore, as a stoic, I usually do not respond to provocation because of its unproductive nature, which can be inherent.
