Problem
Christopher, a 50-year-old male with atrial fibrillation, tobacco use disorder, and hypertension is found to have persistent hypertriglyceridemia. A lipid panel three months ago demonstrated a fasting triglyceride level of 550 mg/dL (6.22 mmol/L). He subsequently instituted several recommended lifestyle changes but continued to smoke cigarettes. A repeat fasting triglyceride level is 510 mg/dL (5.76 mmol/L). Current medications include warfarin and hydrochlorothiazide. Physical examination is unremarkable. In addition to the continued encouragement of lifestyle modification and smoking cessation, which should be initiated to decrease his risk of cardiovascular disease?
