Assignment task: Is there a best form of government?
COVID has currently killed over 6.4 million people (about twice the population of lowa) worldwide and 1.4 million in the U.S. Knowing what we know now, if we were to go back to March of 2020 and start this again what form of government would you want handling the crisis?
As a group..
1. Which FORM of government would be best to handle the pandemic?
Explain why this FORM of government is better than the others in this situation (It may be helpful to think about what actions the government could take in this form that it could not in another) Specifically, what functions of government does this form achieve better than the others that could assist in this situation?
2. Brainstorm any possible negative effects of choosing this FORM of government.
3. Do a quick Google search... Can you identify any nations that used something like your FORM? How were they able to handle the pandemic?
Next, write a short paragraph (4-6 sentences) on a separate sheet of paper explaining your group's choice and be ready to share it with the class.
Let us say that things are really going well! Business is booming, quality of life is great for everyone, communities are safe, education is top-notch, people are healthy, the environment is crisp and clean and there is a state of peace.
