The post is talking about the movie, "LA Confidential"
The first scene that comes to mind which depicts the "Blue Code of Silence," is the scene in which Bud White witnesses a domestic violence incident occurring right in front of him. His partner, who appears to be intoxicated in the back seat of the vehicle, watches Bud walk up to the porch and pull down a string of Christmas lights in order to get the suspect's attention. The suspect exits his residence and meets Bud on the front porch. The two exchange words and Bud begins to punch and knee the suspect before handcuffing him to the rail. Bud later radios in the crime and he and his partner drive away. There are two depictions of the "Blue Code of Silence" here, one being an intoxicated officer while on the job, and the second being Bud hitting a suspect instead of immediately calling in the crime.
The fact that neither one of them reports the other's misconduct is what makes this a "Blue Code of Silence." Both of these violations should have been reported to their superiors. Another scene which depicts the "Blue Code of Silence," is when Exsley is interrogating the three black males who he believes are the suspects of the Nite Owl murders. While Exsley is questioning one of the males, Bud storms into the room and shoves his revolver into the mouth of the suspect in question. He pulls back the hammer and demands to know where the girl is located. He pulls the trigger in a "Russian roulette" fashion twice, coercing the suspect to give him an address. Numerous officers including a captain witness this incident, but it's overlooked with no consequences.
