Assignment Problem: lient is a 21 year old female who is a Junior in college and has recently been experiencing depressive symptoms including anergia, anhedonia, hypersomnia and emotional over eating as well as difficulty concentrating for approximately 3 months. She denies other co-morbid symptoms including anxiety. She is not currently taking any medications other than oral birth control. She has tried over the counter vitamin D, exercise and meditation and these have not been beneficial for her symptoms. She is interested in trying a psychotropic medication.

Past psychiatric history: She had one previous episode of depression in freshman year of college and she tried Escitalopram and Sertraline with minimal benefit.
Substance use: 4-5 cocktails every other night; history of inpatient detox for AUD

Family psychiatric/medical history: Reports mother was on MAOIs at one point and it was poorly tolerated.
