Assignment task:
Take a minute to think about which administrative decision makers have an impact on your life. How many you can come up with?
Think about a time when you or someone you know has been engaged with an administrative decision maker. What were they deciding? How was the decision-making process different than a Court? How was it similar?
Consider how the concept of delegated authority makes you feel. Does it make sense for some decision-making to be delegated to unelected bodies who can administer certain matters expertly and efficiently? Does it worry you at all that these bodies do not need to account directly to the electorate or that they could decide a matter in a way that is unfair or inconsistent with the law? What is the proper balance?
