Non-profit Job posting - Napa Firewise Foundation - Finance and accounting manager. Job duties include managing the daily finance and accounting activities of the foundation. Work closely with leadership to provide timely and accurate information to operate the foundation. Provide financial and accounting support for annual grant funding of between $10-$20 million per year from 3-7 funders per year. Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. CPA preferred, 4 years of experience in accounting management and financial administration in a non-profit organization is preferred. Salary range 77-110K per year Full time Remote.
Government-based Organization - Accountant III - Controllers Officer City and County of San Francisco. Job duties include performing complex accounting functions in connection with budget preparation, purchasing activities, payroll analysis and grant management. Performs fiscal year-end closing, may supervise subordinate staff by delegating, planning, directing, and assigning accounting work. Analyzes, recommends new or updated fiscal policies, procedures, and internal controls and re-aligns business practices to improve operations. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in accounting, finance, business admin or a related field. Four years of experience in professional accounting. Master's degree may be substituted. Salary range $107 - $131k.
For profit - Controller Schramsberg Vineyards Company - this position is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the accounting department. Responsibilities will include supervising, training, and reviewing work performed by others within the department in addition to cost accounting. Month end closing, journal entries and monthly financial statement preparation and review. Bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting is preferred. Experience of more than 5 years including cost accounting. Prior wine industry experience is preferred. Salary $125K-175K
All three jobs require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. All three jobs require preparation of reporting to stakeholders. Napa Firewise Foundation does not manage any staff. Just works jointly with them. The City and County of San Fransisco requires an examination, as well as a verification of qualifications to be submitted. Neither Napa Firewise Foundation nor the City of San Fransisco offer any details beyond salary range in their ads. Schramsberg requires more experience and is an onsite in the office type job.
Of the three jobs, the Schramsberg job is the most interesting to me. It combines both regular accounting and cost accounting. The whole process of winemaking is interesting to me, so to provide support for that kind of business would be fun. I haven't used my eportfolio much, but I would use the business valuation project that I did for Financial Statement Analysis and Business valuation. It highlights my analysis of Walt Disney company's financial statements.
