Problem: In recent years marijuana use has become increasingly widespread and more acceptable in American society. As a result of this shift in attitudes, many states have legalized medical use of marijuana and several have legalized its recreational use. Research evidence seems to suggest that using marijuana has fewer negative side effects than its legal cousin alcohol. With this shift in attitude and research evidence in mind, present two arguments; one arguing that marijuana should remain a controlled and illegal substance and two, that marijuana should be legalized for medical and recreational use.
