Problem: Because of COVID 19, it has been highly encouraged by public health care professionals that the wearing of a face mask to cover the mouth and nose is one of the best methods to keep yourself and others safe from getting sick. Some people see mask wearing as an infringement on their personal freedom. Hospital ICU's are filling up with COVID 19 patients. John Doe an avid mask wearer suddenly suffers a heart attack and needs intensive care but there are no hospital beds available in his hometown because they are filled with the COVID 19 patients many of whom refused to wear a mask and engaged in close contact with others. John Doe dies in transit to a far-away hospital where the only emergency treatment was available. He could have survived if he had access to a local bed but all were occupied. Ultimately, who ought to be accountable for his needless death? The reckless people who didn't abide by accepted CDC guidelines by not wearing a mask? The hospitals that were under prepared? The governmental systems, federal, state, and local, that denied the true impact of COVID 19? John Doe and his family because they should have had a plan in place knowing that hospitals are getting filled with COVID 19 patients.
