Problem
Aesthetics, beauty, ornament, order, proportion - these are all terms used to identify the visual appeal of a particular object; and they hold special meaning when applied to 'classical' architecture. Perrault challenged this notion of an ideal, perfect model by claiming that beauty is subjective.
Where do you stand along this spectrum? Would you agree with Vitruvius and Alberti's mathematical objectivity or more so with Perrault's approach to design? Give at least three reasons to support your view.
