MODUS TOLLENS
1. Whenever the radio plays “Shout” (from the movie “Sister Act”), It makes me want to dance. I don’t feel like dancing today, so the radio must not be playing “Shout”.
2. Every time Bobby hits a home run he does a little victory dance. He’s doing a victory dance now, so he must have hit a home run.
DISJUNCTIVE SYLLOGISM
1. We know either John or Jane is going to town. John is going, so Jane must not be going to town.
2. Either Joe or Don got the job. Don didn’t get the job. Therefore Joe must have been hired.
