good points about using humor. Humor when done correctly can connect you with the audience, put you and the audience at ease and make for a more effective presentation for all. But if you cannot deliver humor well - don't use it.
When the situation doesn't warrant humor - don't use it. But what if a humorous remark has always worked for you but then one day you use it again and that specific audience doesn't respond to it in the same way - then what? Do you apologize?
More on without mentioning it? Try it again later? Acknowledge the fact that most audiences get the humor?
