Problem
Some varieties of fungi are inherently resistant to antifungal medications. Fluconazole, a medication intended to treat infections brought on by the mold species Aspergillus, for instance, has no effect on these infections. Additionally, when fungi are exposed to antifungal medications over time, resistance might form. When antifungal medications are used to treat sick people, especially if the medications are utilized incorrectly, this resistance may develop (for example, when dosages are too low or when treatment courses are not long enough).
