Problem
This task asks you to build on your ability to apply a social issue/concept to a popular music of your choice. By completing the writing task below, you will organize your thinking in order to write P2.
In your first paragraph, write a statement that:
Explains how one social issue/concept lends a particular meaning to the popular music that you have selected for analysis.
This statement must explain the issue/concept, mention the musical topic, and use at least two scholarly sources beyond course readings that enhances your analysis. Make sure that the connections between the issue/concept, musical topic, and scholarly sources are clear, so that other readers understand the connections you are making.
Your statement should be 50-100 words.
In your second paragraph, write an explanation that:
Maps out the remainder of your P2. Explain how you will expand on what you have started in the first paragraph. State how each following portion of the paper will be related to what you have outlined in the statement. What will you discuss next? What after that? A concluding remark should mention why this is relevant for you and/or for others by answering the question: "what is at stake?" or "so what?"
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
