In 1989, Kent motors produced 15,000 Tractors. During the year, 800 tractors were inspected and 5.2 defects per tractor (on average) were identified. What control chart would you utilize throughout production, including the control limits? Why use this chart? What is the likelihood of finding as many as 3 defects on a tractor? What is the probability that one would find out exactly 7 defects on a tractor? What is the likelihood of finding exactly 5.2 defects on a tractor? Draw the OC curve. If the average number of defects increased by to 10 per tractor, what would the probability of detecting the shift in a control chart?
