Assignment task:
Good nutrition clearly has a positive effect on the cognitive development of infants. Children who live in poverty or who are subjected to abuse also appear to invariably have problems with learning development in school. Suggest a list of factors that cause poverty and abuse and propose a program of prevention and intervention that would maximize the infants' development. What do you think of the solutions that may or may not have already been attempted (i.e., Project Head Start, free and reduced lunch programs, etc.)?
