Problem
Perhaps you have heard the phrase, "sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can break my heart". This illustrates that language and words have a lot of power. Language has the power to build and shape relationships and the power to cause misunderstandings and conflict. What are some differences in what one word can mean to different people (give examples from your own life experiences if possible)? Think of a problematic situation you've recently had. Practice using "You", "I", and "We" statements for that situation. What would be the likely outcome of each of these messages?
