What when submerged dialysis bag filled with iodine solution


Question: When you submerged dialysis bag filled with iodine solution into a beaker with starch solution and bag filled with starch solution into a beaker with iodine, what solutions changed the color into dark violet/black? What does this reaction test for (see the previous lab)? What does it mean that the solution changed it color? Based on your observation, is the dialysis membrane penetrable for starch? Is the membrane penetrable for iodine? Why or why not?
