Part 1
1. What was the best dream or worst nightmare that you have ever had?
2. What are five connecting words you frequently use? Use each one in a sentence.
Part 2
1. Ask a classmate or friend what he or she likes to do when he or she has free time. In your journal, write about whether or not you and this person share the same free-time interests.
2. Write two sample sentences in the present tense. One should use the third person singular form (he/she/it or a singular noun as the subject), while the other should use the third person plural form (they or a plural noun as the subject). After checking them for subject-verb agreement, use these sentences as models when you are writing.
Part 3
1. What is your definition of success and/or a successful person?
2. Choose two words that you use frequently, such as friend, education, environment, or any other words you wish. Then, list all of the different forms of these two words that you can think of. Label the different forms as nouns, adjectives, verbs, or adverbs. Then, in a dictionary, verify whether the parts of speech are correct.
