Problem: Personal SWOT Task
Directions: Conduct a Personal SWOT which focuses on your own strengths and weaknesses, the opportunities presented to you by the post-secondary program or a job/career of your choice, and the threats that stand in the way of your success in this program.

Below are some focus questions that will help you to complete your SWOT.
Choose three or four things to highlight in each category, and provide a short explanation of 1-2 sentences for each.
Organize your SWOT in a format of your choice.
1) Strengths
a) What are your talents and things that you are naturally good at?
b) What kinds of knowledge and skills have you developed in your life that you would say you are really good at?
c) What are your positive personality traits?
d) What are you much better at than other people?
e) What do other people say you are good at?
f) What subjects have you excelled in?
g) What resources do you have at your disposal?
h) What contributed the most to your past victories?
2) Weaknesses
a) Where could you improve?
b) Where are you not talented enough?
c) Where in life have you struggled the most?
d) Are there things you are afraid of or that you avoid?
e) Where do other people see possible room for improvement?
f) Which resources are you lacking?
g) Can you do anything better?
h) Do you do anything badly?
3) Opportunities
a) What trends do you see in your chosen professional area?
b) How will this program help you develop skills and gain a competitive advantage?
c) What can you do to draw attention to yourself professionally?
d) Are the internship, co-op or international opportunities available as part of the program?
e) Are there "stepping stone" opportunities that will lead you to your dream job?
f) Are there people you can network with to support you in achieving your goal?
4) Threats
a) What obstacles do you face?
b) Who/what may get in your way?
c) Are there minimum average requirements?
d) Are there changes that are occurring in your external environment?
e) What negative trends do you see in your chosen professional area?
