Problem: Reflect on your Youth
I. Describe a major transition that you experienced that had an impact on the kind of person you are today. Recount the challenge it involved, how you worked through it (who/what helped?); and how you think your life shifted as a result (i.e., how did you and your world change?)
II. Assume that you are a cultural psychologist drawing upon Zittoun's (2007) theory. Revisit your notes about your transition to identify key concepts and processes, including:
i. "Rupture - transition" (how did you undergo "repositioning," "skill-building," and "meaning-making?")
ii. What symbolic resources did you rely on in your transition to symbolic responsibility (i.e., what cultural elements helped you succeed in your youth transition toward adulthood)? If you didn't mention any earlier, consider this more deliberately now.
iii. What did achieving "symbolic responsibility" looks like for you?
