Watch the videos on this website: Mudbox Live. Once you have the model sculpted and painted, it is time to set it up for a game engine. Each game engine requires a different setup process but all setups include reducing the polygon count of the model and baking the texture maps.
During this process, functionality takes the spotlight over aesthetic quality and it is possible to lose form and detail.
