Problem
Nick is a 14 year-old, gth grade student. He was diagnosed with Tourette's. He is often isolated, thrown into lockers, yelled at and make the subjects of classroom jokes. His parents noted that he increasing does not want to attend school. He is able to participate in LaCrosse and physically is strong but has difficulty with timing due to the neck and arm jerking motions. He does not like to have the stick touch his bare hands. He also is upset with the pads and jersey as they feel "funny". He does not like to wear clothing around the house or shirts in school as he 'doesn't like how they feel. His teacher reports the Nick is a pleasant child, always is prepared for class, completes his homework on time ,but she has difficulty with reading his writing. What suggestions could you make for Nick and what treatment would you provide?
