Assignment task: View the Declaration of Independence (video linked here) and make a note of the names of two speakers and introduce them to the class in a paragraph that includes their name and their work. You will need to do some research here. Be specific if someone is a journalist tell where they have worked and give titles of some of their articles or books. If the person is a professor - where does she or he teach? Publications? If someone is an activist, describe their work - what causes are they involved with? When you comment be sure to comment on the work of someone you did not talk about! (Extra points given for those who select people who are not mentioned more than once or twice by other class members. In other words everyone should not choose the first two speakers.)
