CASE STUDY 1: Leia is having problems in many of her classes. She feels it is because no one ever taught her how to study or how to learn college level material. Leia is a global learner who quickly sees and grasps large concepts or big pictures. She is artistic and creative, but she does not see ways she can use those talents and interests when she studies. What strategies from the first eight Principles of Memory could Leia learn to use to be a more active, enthusiastic, and successful learner?
CASE STUDY 2: Eduardo spends far more time studying than do any of his other friends or classmates. His learning goal when he studies is to highlight almost every sentence in his textbook and then memorize the highlighted details. He rereads the highlighted information frequently. Eduardo does not understand why all his time and effort are not paying off. He does poorly on most tests. Which strategies for the first eight Principles of Memory would help Eduardo achieve better results on his tests?
