Marie (mom), Jasmine (12), and Erika (16) have recently experienced stressors in their family that led to the divorce of Marie and Dan (dad). 8 months after the divorce, Dan has moved in with his new partner Karen and her son Brian (9). Jasmine and Erika have been visiting Dan and his new partner during the weekends. Jasmine and Erika have expressed that they are not upset their parents divorced as they felt it was healthier for them to be apart. Marie is supportive of the children visiting their father and encourages them to make the most out of their visits. During the most recent visit, Brian took Jasmine's iPad without asking and broke it after jumping with it on the trampoline and dropping it. Jasmine yelled at Brian and told her dad, Dan, that he needed to do something about it. Dan grounded Brian and told him he could not watch tv or play on his computer for 2 days. Karen was not happy that Dan had punished Brian rather than let her take care of it.
