Many companies are using a "triage scheme" in which management decides what to back up and the schedule for doing so. So, some backups are taken daily, but other things may only be backed up monthly; and perhaps some data is not backed up at all.
What sort of risk management criteria would you use to determine a "triage scheme" for your company?
Also, there are other ways (other than triage) to reduce the "backup and recovery" load for a company - can you think of some?
