Read Chapter Two, "Religion, Spirituality, and Health: Understanding the Mechanisms," chap. in Spiritual Dimensions of Nursing Practice.
a) Summarize at least three of the five mechanisms by which religious involvement could influence physical health; and
b) tell us a story from your life that is related to one or more of these mechanisms operating in a real life situation.
Remember to keep confidential what should be so kept and share only what you are comfortable sharing. If you can not find an example where religion or religious beliefs have impacted someone in your life experience, then discuss why you think that is the case!
