Assignment task: I am studying Social Work and the Law. Right now, I am reading about juvenile justice that talks about the death penalty. My assignment relates Human Rights and Social Justice within the Criminal Justice System. The US Supreme Court called the execution of children "unconstitutionally cruel" when ruling a case about a teenager who bragged about being able to get away with murder because of his age. The court ruled 5-4 to outlaw the death penalty for those under the age of 18 at the time of the crime. What should be the role of Social Workers in the effort to address this problem?
