Problem
100 people are sitting in an airplane, 20 in business class, 80 in economy/coach class. You are asked to briefly sketch the design of a MAC protocol for Wireless LAN technology with a single Access Point in the plane that satisfies two requirements: The people in business class must have a higher priority to the medium than those in economy class. Within a class, the protocol must try to be fair, and must maximize throughput. You must assume basic capabilities e.g. only one frequency channel is available, no directional antennas e.t.c. You can base your answer on existing protocols like IEEE 802.11 or MACA or MACAW Protocols if required, and just suggest what should be changed/ implemented to achieve desired goals.
