Character Exercise Using your knowledge of the play so far, choose a character and answer the questions below after you read each act of the play. You should have 5 sets of 7 answers when you are done; some of your answers may not change from act to act depending on the character you choose to follow.
1. What seems to be your character's function in the plot of the play?
2. What is the view of the other characters of him/her?
3. What is your assessment of this character so far?
4. If there is a difference between your answers for 2 and 3, why?
5. What does this character want in the play; that is, what are his/her goals?
6. What are the steps he/she takes to achieve his/her goals? 7. What would be missing from the play if your character did not exist?
