What receiving a scholarship would mean to you

Problem 1: The purpose of the personal statement is to give you an opportunity to tell us important things about yourself that are not addressed or apparent in the application. Your narrative will be carefully read by multiple selection committees and it should be given special time and attention. It is recommended that your personal statement and include such things as overall life experiences, accomplishments, recognitions, extracurricular activities, and any other information that you believe will be helpful in fully assessing your personal qualities, aspirations, and character. However, your statement should not be just a chronicle of events. This statement is about you, not about events. What is important is what you have learned, or changed, or how your sense of direction was solidified, or how your image of yourself and others has changed, and so on. Lastly, please do not use bullet format or résumé style outline for your narrative statements.

Problem 2: Describe what receiving a scholarship would mean to you. How would it impact your Fresno State experience as well as your goals for your future?

Problem 3: Give a message of gratitude to the generous community of donors who provide financial support to help make higher education a reality for students.
