The author of Conflict Management in Teams states: "Sustaining a high-performing, highly satisfied team takes a great deal of maintenance and awareness." The quadrants listed in Figure 1 on page 2 of this week's reading reflect the likely cycles in the lifespan of a team and the processes they create to manage conflict. While teams may not desire to spend much time in Quadrants 2 through 4, it is clear staying in Quadrant 1 is difficult to sustain.
