1) What problem did you find most compelling?
2) What is one issue in health care policy or social policy that you would like to see studied better so we could come up with new solutions?
3) How would you design that study so that you could deal with the problems of causal inference?

Find a recent news article that covers a specific militarized interaction between two or more countries (e.g., anything ranging from displays of military force at the border to full-scale fighting). In your initial post to the discussion, answer the following question:
Based on what we have discussed in the lesson, can nationalist and or/religious based theories explain the militarized conflict you are examining? Explain your reasoning.

Formulate and defend a definition of terrorism. In your post, include:
A clear definition of terrorism, which includes elements of the definitions of terrorism included in this lesson.
For instance, do you consider terrorism to include only civilian targets, or could it include broader non-combatant and/or military targets as well? Can such attacks only be perpetrated by non-state actors? Consider these elements, and other definitional components discussed in this lesson.
Make sure to justify your definition. For instance, why did you choose to limit, or not limit, the definition to just civilian attacks or to just non-state perpetrators?
