The political implications of social welfare involve local, state, and federal agencies along with the court systems. The involvement of social workers includes them challenging dysfunctional policies. Constitutions, court decisions, and public policies are all important when it comes to decision making (Jansson, 2020).

The economic implications of social welfare include helping to meet the basic survival needs of clients. This would include, but is not limited to, a budget, spending, tax programs, and government assistance. Food stamps, mental health, educational programs, and Medicaid are all available to name a few (Jansson, 2020).

The societal implications of social welfare promote the overall well-being of clients. Social workers are to advocate for living conditions and regulations that are fulfilling to their clients' basic needs (Jansson, 2020). Programs that aim to help include rental assistance, section 8, temporary assistance for needy families, etc.

The political environment focuses on the equality and well-being of all people as a whole. Social workers help to improve and strengthen policies to focus on the needs of clients. The goal will always be social justice for all.
