Discussion
Beyond the problems associated with reading, research has demonstrated that individuals with dyslexia have problems with basic sensory processing. For example, individuals with dyslexia have a difficult time identifying when a grouping of dots is moving relative to the background, especially as the contrast between the dots and the background decreases. This implies that one of the visual pathways may be abnormal in individuals with dyslexia. Which pathway would you suspect and what parts of the brain might you want to investigate to support your hypothesis?
