Market-Based Management® Five Flashlights Problem Solving Model When MBM consultants are presented problems, they immediately write down "V, VT, KP, DR, I" and proceed to ask MBM dimension-related questions about the problem at hand. They call this: "Using the five flashlights of MBM" to shine light on murky situation and find problem areas. Here are sample questions for each dimension:
1) What is your motivation here?
2) What motivates others working on the project with you?
3) If you have involved others, do they feel like they have a stake in success/failure, or are they a cog in your machine?
4) Map out the incentives of yourself, your team, others involved, your customer, etc.; do you see any conflicts or opportunities there?
