While President Trump pardoned a relatively low number of people, the ones he did pardon often had a "personal or political connection" to him, according to the Pew Research Center article. Among the people he pardoned were Steve Bannon, Rod Blagojevich, Elliott Broidy, Alfred Pirro Jr., Bernie Kerik, L'il Wayne, and Michael Milken, among others.
