Problem
Reflect on your experience with reading primary literature in the Biological Sciences. Have you ever read an article that was way over your head? What made it challenging to understand? Was it the language and the discipline-specific terminology that made it difficult to understand? What made it informative and interesting? Provide some of your thoughts on why you think that discipline-specific literature is difficult to understand and how it should be altered when written for a general audience? (i.e., does it have to be dumbed down?). Think about some of the specific changes you might make if trying to present a primary literature paper to a non-expert group of peers and comment on your thoughts for being most successful.
