Problem
Student will evaluate 5 commercial toys with form given, each will be worth 10 points. Answers will be written on separate sheet and picture of toy must be included. One toy for each of the following age groups (as toy is described by manufacturer) will be used: 0 - 6 months, 6 - 12 months, 12 - 18 months, 18 - 24 months, 24 - 30 months.

TOY EVALUATION
Evaluate each of your chosen 5 commercial toys answering the following question. Be sure to have one toy for each of the five age categories (as determined by the manufacturer) - 0 - 6 months, 6 - 12 months, 12 - 18 months, 18 - 24 months, 24 - 30 months. Be specific and detailed (one word answers are NOT acceptable) but no more than 1 page per toy. Be sure to include a picture of each toy with your evaluation.
A. What learning experiences does the toy provide? (ex. - stimulation, experimentation)
B. Does the toy foster the child's motor development (fine or large)
C. Does the toy foster social growth? (ex. -language, cooperation)
D. Does the toy foster cognitive processes?
E. What can the child learn about the world from this toy?
F. Is this toy non biased toward gender, race, ethnicity, culture?
G. Is this toy safe for the age range listed by the manufacturer?
H. Is this toy designed for a specific use? Can it be used in combination with other toys?
I. Could this toy be adapted for use with a disabled child? Discuss the adaptation
J. Do you think the age range listed by the manufacturer is appropriate for this toy? What age range would you suggest and why. Could the toy be adapted for use as the child ages?
