Body Image
Children entering the teen years (age 12-19) undergo bodily transformations. These bodily transformations can be viewed as either negative or positive physical changes. During these bodily transformations. Children begin to criticize or evaluate their bodies and in turn, can effect their self-esteem. In addition, pop (popular) culture or social media sets trends and standards which influence children's perception of what is considered an "ideal body".
Activity
For this activity, will research and analyze a picture of either a female or male adolescent (ages 12-19). You will share your opinion about what the picture is conveying to teens.
Instructions

Search for a magazine or advertisement picture/image targeted to an adolescent audience (e.g., Seventeen)
